Laying the Foundation: Our Journey So Far

When we launched Cedar and Stone Co., we knew one thing for sure — we were ready. Ready to dream big, to dive in, and to build something meaningful from the ground up. What we didn’t fully realize? That starting a business is just as much about growing yourself as it is about growing your brand.

In these early weeks and months, we’ve been navigating the winding road of entrepreneurship — learning how to balance creativity with strategy, passion with planning, and vision with execution. From late-night brainstorms to early-morning site visits, every step has brought us closer to what Cedar and Stone is meant to be.

We’ve taken on pro bono projects to build our portfolio, reached out to friends and family for support, and will say yes to every opportunity that feels right — even when we are not 100% sure on how it will all play out. And you know what? That’s the beauty of it.

What we’ve learned so far:

    •    Progress beats perfection. Always.

    •    Systems and tools (hello, to-do lists and templates!) are our best friends.

    •    It’s okay to slow down and realign — in fact, it’s necessary.

    •    The most fulfilling projects often come from the most unexpected places.

Every project has taught us something new — not just about design, but about ourselves, our process, and the people we serve. And as we continue to grow, we’re committed to working smarter, not just harder — so we can show up more fully, more creatively, and more intentionally in everything we do.

So, if you’re in the beginning stages of your own dream — whether it’s a business, a passion project, or just a shift in direction — let this be your reminder: you don’t have to have it all figured out. Start where you are, use what you have, and trust the path as it unfolds.

Here’s to building something beautiful — from the inside out.

— With love,

The Cedar & Stone Co. team
