What’s Inspiring C&S Lately: Colour, Texture & the Return of Wallpaper

Lately, I’ve been drawn to interiors that feel layered, expressive, and deeply personal. Spaces that don’t rely on statement pieces alone, but instead build interest through colour, texture, and thoughtful material choices.

Colour, in particular, has been playing a bigger role in my creative process. Not loud or overpowering, but grounded, moody, and intentional. Soft greens, warm taupes, muted blues, and earthy neutrals that bring depth without overwhelming a space. These tones create atmosphere while still allowing a home to feel calm and livable.

Texture is where those colours truly come to life. Stone with natural variation, wood with visible grain, woven fabrics, plastered walls. These elements add richness and warmth, making spaces feel collected rather than designed all at once.

And then there’s wallpaper.

Wallpaper has become one of my favourite tools in interior design. Used thoughtfully, it brings character, movement, and a sense of artistry that paint alone often can’t achieve. From subtle textures to expressive patterns, wallpaper allows a space to tell a story, whether it’s a quiet moment in a powder room or a bold feature in a bedroom or study.

What I love most is the balance: pairing pattern with restraint, colour with softness, and texture with intention. It’s not about filling every surface, but about creating moments that feel considered and timeless.

These inspirations continue to shape how we approach design at Cedar & Stone, crafting spaces that feel layered, personal, and rooted in thoughtful details rather than fleeting trends.

As always, inspiration evolves, but the goal remains the same: creating homes that feel as good as they look, and even better as they’re lived in.
